Had I but now the power of a god,
I'd form the days anew with eagles' wings,
The hours like shafted arrows, feather-shod,
And minutes momentary, lightning things.

There is an eyrie for my golden days,
A target is there for my arrows bright,
Triumphant thunder for my minutes' blaze —
A certain day, my love and certain night.
